Founded in 2023, we are a non-governmental organisation dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and promoting African cultures and traditions through the power of artistic expression.
Inspired by the drum — "Ngoma Yaitu", meaning "Our Drum" — we embrace its symbolism of solidarity, rhythm, and storytelling as the heartbeat of our identity. The drum has always been central to African culture, serving as a means of communication, celebration, and community building.
Through literature, testimonials, artwork, poetry, fashion, music, dance, and other creative expressions, we create pathways for understanding and connection across diverse races. These artistic disciplines serve as powerful tools for cultural dialogue, education, and appreciation — and they define the journey we have chosen to pursue.
At Ngoma Yaitu Foundation, we believe that culture is not just heritage but a unifying factor that fosters a sense of community. Our work extends beyond preservation; we actively engage in promoting cultural exchange and understanding on a global scale.
